Today kind of started at 4:00am England time when our flight served us breakfast which was a slice of banana bread and some tea. Then I finished the movie I had started yesterday and played some games with Sabrina before arriving in Heathrow airport at 6:30am. We went through customs and then got on the tour bus.

On the tour we saw several memorials, buckinham palace, Westminster Abby and big Ben to name a few and even saw the anual inspection of the household cavalry regiments. Apparently the queen was actually at the palace today and was knighting some people.

After the first part of the tour we had lunch at the shake shack (mmm cheeseburgers and gelato). Then we got back on the bus and went to the British museum where we walked around for about an hour. We were all super exhausted by this point but the museum was really beautiful.

After the museum we did a little bit more touring around in London and saw st. Paul’s cathedral as well as the London brige (we climbed up on the roof of a building to see the cathedral).

After that we drove to Orpington and our host mom (sharon) and our host sister laylia picked Lauren, Lauren and I up and drive us to our temporary home. We also have two host brothers (Fletcher and cody) and a dog.

They are very nice and super welcoming. Sharon showed us around and made sure we were comfortable and then we watched a little tv and had lasagna, garlic bread, salad and chips (i think it’s fun that they call them that) for dinner. After dinner, we had our showers and got ready for bed. I was really tired this afternoon but after eating some real food and having a shower I think I’m more or less acostomed to the new time zone. I guess will find out tomorrow when we go see all the castles.
